With the entire season still ahead of him, he is keen to build a name for himself in the Big Bash League and beyond. “Think I opened with him for the very first time when I was 16 in a 2nd XI game,” Maddinson said. “To think we could be batting together again, it’s been quite a long time. That top order, you put Cam Bancroft into that, Ollie Davies, Sam Billings, it’s quite a nice-looking lineup, and hopefully, I have a role in that somewhere.”
The move to Sydney Thunder also offers Maddinson a fresh start and the chance to redefine his T20 career.
